Zaratiana Randrianantenaina
Zaratiana Randrianantenaina *1982 in Antananarivo/Madagascar. Studied music theory and dance at the Jean-Philippe Rameau Conservatoire in Dijon, France, as well as later on contemporary dance, anatomy and music at the conservatoire de Musique et de danse de Paris (CNSMPD), where she obtained her degree with highest honors. She joined the CNSMPD junior ballet, as part of which performed in pieces by Lucinda Childs, Merce Cunningham, Alwin Nikolais, Hervé Robbe, Quentin Rouillet and Jo Stromgren. In the year 2001 she taught workshops in France and other countries and was awarded the »jeune espoir« prize of the 9th International dance competition of Paris for her own choreography »mal de soi«. In 2002, she became a member of the Ballet Preljocaj in Aix-en-Provence, as part of which she didn’t only dance major parts, but was also involved in the development of numerous new pieces. Furthermore Randrianantenaina participated in film projects by directors such as Olivier Assayas and Pierre Coulibeuf as well as dance pieces by young choreographers of the Centre Choréographique in Aix-en-Provence. Alongside these activties, she participates in improvisation projects and dance projects with children and young adults. Thus she taught a workshop on dance and architecture at the Technische Universität Berlin in 2014, and in the year after contributed as a choreographer to the project »Open Your Ears« at Konzerthaus Berlin. Following her participation in Sasha Waltz’ project »Dialoge 09« in 2009 she danced with the Compagnie Sasha Waltz & Guests in most of their new productions since, as well as repertory pieces.
