Contemporary Dance I Training with Antonin Rioche
My morning training is an invitation to reconnect with yourself, your physicality, through a gentle, nourishing exploration of movement.
We always begin by creating a calm, safe space, through breathing, yoga, and meditation, we slow down mental and physical activity, bring you back to the present moment with clarity and sensitivity.
These practices open the door to a deeper connection with your inner world.
Through guided improvisation, we approach movement as a way of listening.
By moving from the inside out and from the outside in, we stay attuned to internal rhythms, engage with gravity, and let the body’s weight enter into conversation with the floor.
Dissociating movement through the bones, muscles, and fascia or skin—opening access to a range of textures and qualities, bringing nuance and dimension to your dancing.
My focus is on cultivating both fluidity and grounding, allowing energy to circulate freely through the whole body.
Throughout, I will share my approach to dance as a poetic, organic, and responsive language—one that honors the body’s subtleties and opens new pathways of expression.
