We celebrate our 30th anniversary

On this occasion we present the most recent works by Sasha Waltz in Berlin and internationally

The dance company Sasha Waltz & Guests is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023. To commemorate this occasion, we are delighted to present our Berlin audience with a panoramic selection of Sasha Waltz’s most recent works together in one programme at the very beginning of the season. The choreography »Beethoven 7«, which debuted at Berlin’s Radialsystem in March 2023, returns to its original venue at the end of August with four performance dates. The following weekend we will be back at the Berliner Festspiele for the first time since 2019 with »SYM-PHONIE MMXX«, Sasha Waltz’s work for dance, light and orchestra set to the composition by Georg Friedrich Haas, which opened at the Staatsoper Berlin in 2022. In mid-September, we will celebrate our anniversary weekend with a double performance of »In C«, a colourful exploration of the world of minimal music, which premiered as a livestream from the Radialsystem during the pandemic in spring 2021. And the children's dance company of Sasha Waltz & Guests - which has been invited to the 10th Tanztreffen der Jugend with the piece »TEXERE« by Gabriel Galindez Cruz - will also present their version of Sasha Waltz's choreography entitled »In C – nächste Generation«, which they developed together with dancers from Sasha Waltz & Guests, on the occasion of the jubilee.

Our international audience can also look forward to many guest performances as well as various »In C« projects taking place from Bonn to Madrid, Oslo, and as far afield as Mexico. Additionally, at the beginning of November, »Sasha Waltz in Dialogue with Wolfgang Laib« – an improvisation project rooted in the same spirit as the »Dialoge« projects – will see Sasha Waltz, three dancers, and a musician encounter works by the artist in a large solo exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart.
